Karan is an Investment Banker who leads Energy transition agenda for the APAC Clients, based Singapore. In this role, Karan covers all major energy transition themes such as low carbon fuels, hydrogen, carbon capture and battery storage from financing as well as advisory perspective. He works closely with Coverage, M&A and other product teams to deliver on key transition objectives for the Clients and the bank.
Before joining the bank, Karan spent 14 years at bp and Shell across the energy value chain – upstream, downstream, and trading. He has delivered world scale capital projects, originated, and closed complex cross border financing and trading deals for fuels in the Asia pac. He has also led carbon market business in the APAC, established partnerships for renewables business and restructured a distressed business in the region.
Throughout his career, Karan has lived and worked across multiple geographies, notably Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, UK, Netherlands, and India.
Karan graduated as a chemical engineer from IIT Madras and has an MBA from INSEAD.
