Shani is a regional energy expert with a decade of experience advocating for energy policy in Southeast Asia. Currently, Shani is the Head of the Power Generation and Interconnection Department at the ASEAN Centre for Energy, which leads and assist ASEAN Member States in implementing the regional cooperation on the ASEAN Power Grid and Civilian Nuclear Energy. Prior to her current role, she has played a vital role in supporting energy transitions in Indonesia, empowering utilities to enhance renewable energy procurement for the industrial sector as well as working with the Indonesian government and policy makers on the energy transition topic. Shani holds BSc in Electrical Power Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology and MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Delft, Netherlands.
